About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Community Nursing Specialist to join our team at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our community children's nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and young people with complex health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care to children and young people with a range of health conditions, including palliative care, oncology, and respiratory conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify the needs of children and young people, and develop strategies to address these needs.
  • Provide education and support to children, young people, and their families to promote healthy lifestyles and self-management of chronic conditions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of community children's nursing services.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Child Branch) or RSCN with a minimum of 2-3 years post-registration clinical experience working with children and their families.
  • Proven experience of working with children and young people with complex health needs, including palliative care, oncology, and respiratory conditions.
  • Sound nursing knowledge and experience of all basic clinical nursing skills, including care of Tracheostomies, enteral feeding devices, and Central venous catheters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
