HR Business Partner Opportunity

Medlock Partners is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our client, a prestigious and ambitious public sector organisation based in the Chester area.

The successful candidate will support the wider HR team and partner with various stakeholders, advising and coaching on a wide range of generalist HR duties, including Employee Relations case work, HR MI, and Change Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day HR operational issues and lead a small team to deliver a highly competent and professional HR service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, as a trusted partner in all HR and business issues.
  • Manage case work and provide advice and coaching in respect of employee relations, contractual and policy matters, ensuring compliance with legislation, good practice and policies and procedures.
  • Provide proactive and professional HR advice on the full range of people issues, including talent acquisition and recruitment, performance management, reward and recognition, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and health and wellbeing.
  • Assist in the development of recruitment and succession plans for all areas of the organisation.
  • Support the planning and implementation of organisational design and change programmes, including restructures involving redundancy, redeployment and TUPE transfers.
  • Maintain good working relationships with trade union representatives to promote employee engagement and aid the resolution of issues.
  • Ensure HR data and information is accurate and up to date to aid the decision making of stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Essential experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor.
  • Confident and experienced in dealing with complex Employee Relations casework.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current Employment Law Legislation.
  • Previous experience in the not-for-profit/public sector and working with trade union representatives is ideal, but not essential.
  • CIPD qualifications, ideally level 7, are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with demanding stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider HR team.
