About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Housing Support Specialist to join our team at The Social Interest Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing housing-related support to vulnerable adults and those from complex backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct communal support to participants by managing a caseload with key working responsibilities.
  • Work alongside community partners and other key stakeholders to ensure needs, objectives, and requirements of the service are met as a team and individually.
  • Provide effective outreach support to vulnerable adults to assist with tenancy sustainment, independent living, and promoting self-reliance.
  • Act as a primary support worker for a caseload of participants with different needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external persons and agencies, such as Homeless Prevention Officers, Local Landlords, Housing Benefit Team, Allocations Department, Temporary Accommodation, Housing Associations, Hostels, Supported Housing Schemes, and Rehab Facilities.
Requirements
  • IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience.
  • Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviors.
  • Understanding and/or practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice, and mental health.
