Support Worker

As a Support Worker you will be working in nursing homes, residential homes, supported accommodation, supported living and other care settings, depending on the client’s requirements.
You will be required to provide care and support to the service users in assisting them towards independence and support them in daily living skills. Some service users may have learning difficulties, in which case additional attention and patience will be required in carrying out daily tasks.
Key Duties
Providing care and support as per the Care/Support Plan
Developing ways to promote the individuals rights and choices
Providing information, advice and support to families and other professionals
Update all recording systems using clear and understandable writing or grammar, including finances, A&I, Risk Assessments, Daily Care, Diaries, Care Plans, Support Plans & Logs
Monitoring behavior patterns and behavior charts
Personal care
Ensuring protection against abuse
Adhering to our & the client’s Policies and Procedures
Providing vital life skills training individually tailored to increase independence, choice and control
Other duties of care / support may include, but not limited to:
Personal Care
Medication Care
Meal preparation
Attending appointments
General Housekeeping
Ironing
Shopping
Chaperone
Social Activities
SKILLS
Support Workers will need to possess the following skills:
A caring, approachable & tactful nature

The desire to work with people of all ages and from all backgrounds

Good communication and listening skills
To ensure confidential & sensitive information is shared on a need to know basis
A respectful approach to patients and colleagues
The ability and desire to take own initiative whilst recognizing their limitations

The ability to remain patient and calm in tough situations
A good sense of humor
Reliability
Good organizational skills
Driving skills and access to own vehicle is are highly preferred, but not necessary.
NVQ level 2 or 3 are preferable but not necessary as full training will be provided.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract
Pay: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
Day range:
- Monday to Friday
Shift:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Night shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Wembley, HA0 2DH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
