Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced clinician to join our multidisciplinary team as an Autism Specialist Practitioner, Band 6. The successful candidate will be responsible for screening and assessing adults for autism spectrum conditions, as well as providing post-diagnostic support and individualized interventions.

Main Duties

The main purpose of this role is to:

  • Screen and assess adults for autism spectrum conditions using standardized tools and clinical expertise.
  • Develop and implement individualized post-diagnostic support plans, including group interventions and profession-specific assessments.
  • Provide specialist advice, training, and consultation to support other staff members, social care professionals, and third sector organizations working with autistic adults.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma or degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration or Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.
  • Minimum two years post-registration experience as a qualified professional.
  • Experience of undertaking assessments and care planning, working in a multicultural setting, and working with autism and neurodevelopmental conditions.
