Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team at TreeHouse School.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Autistic pupils to access the curriculum and promote their independence and self-esteem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to pupils on a 1:1 basis, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

• Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of our pupils.

• Support the development of pupils' social, emotional, and behavioral skills, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons, ensuring that all materials and resources are autism-friendly and accessible.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of autism and its impact on learning and behavior.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of our pupils.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.

• Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to learn and grow with our team.
