Autism Specialist Practitioner, Band 6, Tower Hamlets Autism Service

We are seeking an experienced clinician to join our multidisciplinary team as an Autism Specialist Practitioner, Band 6. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality diagnostic assessments and post-diagnostic support services for autistic adults.

About the Role

  • As part of our team, you will screen and assess adults for autism spectrum conditions, using evidence-based tools and clinical expertise.
  • You will plan, organize, and facilitate post-diagnostic support, individual, and group interventions, including profession-specific assessments and interventions.
  • You will provide specialist advice, training, consultation, and liaison to support other East London NHS Foundation Trust staff, social care staff, primary care colleagues, and third sector organizations working with autistic adults.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration or Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
  • Minimum two years post-registration experience as a qualified professional
  • Experience of undertaking assessments and care planning, working in a multicultural setting, and working with autism and neurodevelopmental conditions
