Residential Care Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Shift Lead to join our team at Corus Consultancy. As a Shift Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting and managing our staff to ensure they can meet the needs of the children and young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a Safe and Supportive Environment: Create a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment where children and young people can feel secure and free from harm.
- Education and Attendance: Actively promote the child's education by assisting with school attendance, homework, and school liaison, and attending parent-teacher meetings.
- Therapeutic Approach: Act as a positive role model and bring a therapeutic approach to dealing with children and young people, regardless of age.
- Staff Support: Assist Support Workers in their roles as Key Workers and act as a link worker to children and young people when their Key Worker is not available.
- Care Planning: Ensure that each member of staff is aware of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.
- Reviews and Meetings: Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
- Record Keeping: Maintain good quality written records and reports regarding the children and young people in our care.
- Shift Planning: Take responsibility for planning shifts and ensuring their smooth running when on duty.
- Health and Safety: Cooperate with the company's relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post.
- Qualifications: Minimum NVQ level 3 in residential childcare and a minimum of 2 years' experience in working within a children's residential home.
- Availability: Willingness to work varying shifts, including early morning and late evening work, an on-call rota system, weekends, and Bank Holidays when required.
- Criminal Records Bureau Check: Clear Criminal Records Bureau check at all times, with changes to personal circumstances notified to your line manager immediately.
