We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Shift Lead to join our team at Corus Consultancy. As a Shift Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting and managing our staff to ensure the needs of our children and young people are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a Caring Environment: Create a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people to feel secure and supported.
- Education and Attendance: Assist with and encourage school attendance, homework, and school liaison, as well as attending parent meetings and PEPs.
- Positive Role Modeling: Act as a positive role model and bring a therapeutic approach to dealing with children, regardless of age.
- Staff Support: Assist Support Workers in their roles as Key Workers and act as a link worker to children when their Key Worker is not available.
- Care Planning: Ensure each member of staff is aware of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.
- Reviews and Meetings: Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
- Record Keeping: Maintain good quality written records and reports regarding the children and young people in our care.
- Meetings and Consultation: Chair children's meetings and facilitate consultation with young people.
- Health and Safety: Cooperate with the company's relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Qualifications: Minimum NVQ level 3 in residential childcare and a minimum of 2 years' experience in working within a children's residential home.
- Shift Work: This post requires the holder to do varying shifts, including early morning and late evening work, an on-call rota system, and working weekends as part of a rota.
- Criminal Records Bureau: The post holder will require a clear Criminal Records Bureau check at all times and be on the DBS update service.
