Residential Care Team Leader

Corus Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Shift Lead to join our team. As a Shift Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting and managing our staff to ensure the highest standards of care for the children and young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a Safe and Supportive Environment: Create a nurturing environment where children and young people feel secure and valued.
- Support Staff Development: Assist in the implementation of staff training and development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Lead by Example: Demonstrate a therapeutic approach in dealing with children and young people, and promote a positive and respectful attitude among staff.
- Coordinate Care Plans: Ensure that each member of staff is aware of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.
- Attend Meetings and Reviews: Participate in childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
- Maintain Records and Reports: Ensure the maintenance of good quality written records and reports regarding the children and young people in our care.
- Facilitate Consultation: Chair children's meetings and facilitate consultation with young people generally.
- Act as an Appropriate Adult: Act as an appropriate adult where necessary.
- Coordinate Shifts and Resources: Plan shifts and ensure their smooth running when on duty, and allocate resources appropriately.
- Comply with Health and Safety Legislation: Cooperate with the company's relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post.
- Qualifications and Experience: Minimum NVQ level 3 in residential childcare and a minimum of 2 years' experience in working within a children's residential home.
- Shift Work and On-Call: This post requires the holder to do varying shifts, including early morning and late evening work, and an on-call rota system.
- Weekends and Bank Holidays: The post holder will be required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required.
- Criminal Records Bureau Check: The post holder will require a clear Criminal Records Bureau check at all times, and changes to personal circumstances that may affect this must be notified to the line manager immediately.
