Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager Leader to join our UK team. As a Bid Manager Leader, you will be responsible for leading our bid team, helping to drive and support all aspects of bid team and proposal management through to award of the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Bid Team: You will provide leadership of the bid team, helping to drive and support all aspects of bid team and proposal management through to award of the contract.
  • Bid Planning: You will create and maintain bid plan/activity schedule including governance through the duration of the bid, creating and maintaining response book plan, including owners and deadlines.
  • Bid Kick-Off Meetings: You will lead bid kick-off meetings, ensuring bid teams are equipped with relevant bid/customer requirements and documentation and briefed on the bid plan and expectations.
  • Response Development: You will develop response templates based on ITT/PQQ requirements, including AMU/storyboards, pink/red, and final versions, where required coaching writers through the format of response templates, ensuring win themes and hot buttons are considered in response writing, establishing and maintaining the wall of truth.
  • Colour Reviews: You will coordinate and participate in colour reviews.
  • Final Bid Submission: You will participate in white-glove preparation of final bid submission as per bid requirements (e.g., customer portal, physical delivery etc.), ensuring that all deliverables requested for the submission are compliant.
  • Post-Submission Activities: You will support any post-submission activities and support the program team as required – e.g., clarification questions, pricing/solution amendments, and required resulting governance.
  • Weekly Bid Team Meetings: You will contribute to weekly bid team meetings on live deals and share proposal best practice.
  • Win Plan Training: You will direct and mentor bid team members in the bid win plan, including delivering win plan training to the wider business, alongside other bid managers.
  • Proposal Information Centre: You will contribute to the Proposal Information Centre – including proposal submissions, case studies, and company information to maximise proposal re-use content.
  • Virtual Bid Sites: You will set up required virtual bid sites and maintain folders, ensuring content is in correct locations and that it is transparent to bid teams. Ensure that the correct user access permissions are set up.
  • Client Communications: You will monitor and manage communications, messages, clarification questions, and documentation (RFI/PQQ/ITT/ITN/RFP) received from the client procurement portal, ensuring all information is communicated to the wider bid team with support from the Capture Manager.
  • Client Relationships: You will work with the Capture Manager and the Business Development Lead to build client relationships and support client engagements, help understand the Customer's issues, concerns, and hot buttons.
  • Winning Strategies: You will support the development of winning strategies that differentiate us, are competitively focused, and are compelling to the client and their requirements, as well as satisfy internal business objectives and risk posture.
  • Business Case: You will support the development of the business case for continuing to pursue and bidding for the opportunity, including estimating and tracking bid budget and flagging when more budget is required.
  • Resource Profile: You will assist the Capture Manager in building resource profile for duration of the bid.
  • Governance Review Material: You will support the completion and presentation of governance review material.

  • Travel: You will be able to travel/deploy across the UK for several months at a time.
