Job Title: Adult Community Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Older Persons community mental health services on a full-time or part-time basis.

About the Role

As a Specialty Doctor, you will provide medical and psychiatric support to Consultant Psychiatrists working in the service area and in the management of service users. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and interests in a supportive environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality clinical care to our patients and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical and psychiatric support to Consultant Psychiatrists
  • Work in partnership to provide initial assessment and treatment initiation for patients referred to the service
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies
  • Participate in research and service evaluation projects
Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
  • Completed at least 4 years full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent) at least 2 of which will be in a relevant specialty training programme
  • MRC Psych or equivalent
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
  • Additional clinical qualifications
  • Approved under S12 or willing to undergo training
