Business Analyst Role

At Halfords, we are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to play a central role in collaborating across the Halfords Group to align business needs with IT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop in-depth knowledge of Halfords business processes and systems.
  2. Work with stakeholders to implement strategy using existing systems or identify required change.
  3. Engage with key stakeholders to maintain awareness of strategic, tactical, and operational change impacting Technology.
  4. Support the definition, documentation, and continuous improvement of Halfords Business Analysis methodology.
  5. Apply a standard methodology to structured Business Analysis engagements, agree objectives, and plan accordingly.
  6. Employ various tools and techniques, including focus interviews, surveys, statistical analysis, work study, process analysis, and re-design.
  7. Assess risk, impact, and dependencies on development delivery and communicate accordingly.
  8. Produce or assist in the production of required documentation, including use cases, requirements documents, gap analysis, and project reports.
  9. Manage changes to requirements through effective use of change control processes.
  10. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party suppliers.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Excellent business analysis skills with knowledge of Agile and traditional software analysis and development methodologies.
  • Ability to engage with management-level stakeholders and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrates awareness of NFRs and data requirements.
  • Knowledge in modelling techniques, including business process modelling, UML, and user cases.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Technology knowledge and technical awareness.
  • Experience in integrated multi-channel retail.
  • Proven ability to illustrate complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way.
  • Financial acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Decision-making skills, including the ability to make decisions individually and as part of a team.
  • Consultancy skills, including negotiating and influencing skills.
