Job Title: Family Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). This is a permanent, 32.5 hours a week, term-time only position.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced Safeguarding Officer and Principal to support groups of children and their families, with a focus on improving attendance and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with teaching staff to assess and provide targeted support to pupils, raising achievement and overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Identify and assess pupils requiring extra support, developing individual action plans and working with parents/carers to address poor performance/attendance/behaviour.
  • Undertake home visits to maintain positive family support and monitor the implementation of plans, reporting on progress achieved.
  • Provide extra support to pupils through knowledge of available activities and opportunities, and develop partnerships with external agencies/organisations to address barriers to learning.
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and prepare written reports and evaluations, ensuring confidentiality in relation to pupils' personal circumstances.
  • Develop group support opportunities during lunchtimes and afterschool, and support the transition of pupils moving between schools.
  • Supervise pupils excluded from class or following alternative timetables.
Requirements:

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service and will be required to provide documents from the Immigration Act List A and B.
