Position Overview

Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service is seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our dedicated team in delivering exceptional recovery care to a varied clientele. As a Family Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to offer guidance and assistance to families regarding substance misuse and its effects on family dynamics. You will implement family-centered interventions aimed at mitigating the consequences of substance misuse within families, particularly for children and adolescents, while promoting awareness and improving access to suitable services.

You will manage your own caseload, collaborating with our team and other social care providers to determine how best to assist families. Establishing strong and constructive relationships with clients and their families will be crucial in helping them achieve their desired life changes, while also managing an active caseload and ensuring seamless care continuity.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will work collaboratively with the team to achieve the following objectives:

Understand the needs of clients and their families Ensure their safety Develop achievable plans with their support Regularly check in and assess their progress Maintain accurate and timely records of interactions Collaborate effectively with other social care providers, such as Housing, to address all aspects of their recovery Engage in continuous learning and reflection to enhance client outcomes Support colleagues across the service to deliver outstanding care

Ideally, you will have experience in health and social care, substance misuse, or family-oriented settings. We seek positive and driven candidates who can communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals in various environments. You should be results-oriented, highly organized, possess excellent time management skills, and be comfortable working in an outreach capacity. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are required for this role.
