About the Role

The Family Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the Multidisciplinary Team in delivering effective clinical support to children and families. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working in a supportive and collaborative environment, providing 'wrap around' support to families from application to case closure.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide scheduled telephone calls to families following their assessments
  • Cover the clinical and main reception
  • Respond to telephone, written and electronic enquiries
  • Carry out online research, provide information and signpost to relevant services
  • Create and maintain high-quality, accurate records
  • Meet, greet, interact, and support families in a helpful and courteous manner, building positive relationships

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Knowledge and experience of working with children or adults (and their families) with a learning disability, autism, ADHD, and/or complex needs in health or education settings
  • Educated to GCSE level, including numeracy and literacy
  • Level 3 or NVQ 3 in a social care-related subject or equivalent
  • Knowledge of childhood developmental milestones and safeguarding principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent IT skills
