Berkmann Wine Cellars is a leading wine importer in the UK, with a strong reputation for delivering premium wines to top restaurants and retailers. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wine Sales Professional to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wine and sales, with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key customers. They will be responsible for managing customer expectations, implementing marketing-derived activity plans, and hosting tastings to build a portfolio of customers who appreciate good wine.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with our marketing, logistics, and back office teams. They will also have a strong commercial understanding and the ability to drive profit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve agreed sales budgets for volume, value, and profit margin for every listing
  • Add new profitable business without compromising sales in other sectors
  • Build business relationships between BWC and all management levels of the designated account base
  • Provide forecasting accuracy and feedback to aid logistics
  • Develop a productive working relationship with Marketing, Logistics, and other back office departments
  • Manage pricing, promotional expenditure, and profitability for all designated accounts
  • Champion discussions to ensure relationships between customer, producer, and BWC are cordial and beneficial to all parties
  • Manage and use customer data to ensure stock levels and sales are optimized

Requirements:

  • Experienced in handling on-trade customers
  • A strong background in wine and education to WSET 2
  • Experience of selling luxury brands advantageous
  • Experience working with Brand Owners and strategic brand development
  • Practical knowledge of using and interpreting market data
