Provide clinical leadership, facilitate professional development, and manage a team of midwives, students, and support workers in a designated clinical area.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with professionals to create a high-quality, safe service for women and babies.

Ensure the provision of a consistently high level of clinical leadership across the maternity unit 24/7 and promote a unit-wide multidisciplinary team working philosophy.

Act as a host to women, birthing people, and their families, raising the profile of Whittington Health.

Main duties include providing a high-quality, safe service in various practice settings, contributing to the delivery of the organisation's objectives, and working autonomously within guidelines and professional practice.

The post holder will be expected to have evidence of relevant training, such as CTG, risk, safeguarding, and PROMPT, as well as cannulation and perineal repair, theatres.

Essential qualifications include a degree in midwifery, mentorship, and NMC active registration, with desirable qualifications including knowledge and experience, 3-year post-registration experience, and evidence of leading a multidisciplinary team.

Budget management, safer staffing, operational management, and staff development are also essential skills for the post holder.

The post holder will be expected to work effectively and efficiently within available resources, contributing to the delivery of the organisation's objectives.

The care provided will be evidence-based and holistic, meeting individual needs and working within professional practice.

Key responsibilities include providing clinical leadership, facilitating professional development, and managing a team in a clinical area, as well as promoting a positive learning environment and contributing to national targets.

The post holder will be expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with professionals to create a high-quality service, and act as a host to women and their families, raising the profile of Whittington Health.
