Child Safeguarding Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Child Safeguarding Specialist to join our team at Suffolk County Council. As a key member of our Criminal Exploitation Hubs, you will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities to prevent children from being criminally exploited within Suffolk.
Responsibilities- Deliver targeted outreach support in locations identified by partners, including the police and community leaders, to engage with children, families, and members of the community.
- Work closely with children who are at risk of criminal exploitation, exploring opportunities to educate and divert them away from harm, whilst supporting and empowering parents and carers to shape better futures for young people in Suffolk.
- Collaborate with partners to identify opportunities to make communities safer and improve the lives of young people living in the area.
- Experience working with partner agencies in a collaborative way.
- The ability to build trust and work constructively with those at risk of criminal exploitation, and with their families, while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication skills with adults, children, and professionals alike.
- A well-organised approach with a creative mind when it comes to problem-solving.
- An understanding of the importance of flexibility and willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required.
- A competitive salary of £26,421 per annum (pro rata for part-time), reflecting the challenging and rewarding nature of this role.
