Job OverviewThis 12-month fixed-term post offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our friendly and supportive Community Learning Disability Youth, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health Service (LD YOUTH CAMHS).
You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of Clinical Psychologists, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Systemic Practitioners, and Support Workers, delivering specialist assessment and therapeutic interventions with young people and their families.
The successful candidate will be required to travel as part of the post, therefore a full driving license and access to a car are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule regular meetings with clients and family members to discuss treatment plans and progress.
- Conduct thorough assessments and risk evaluations to identify areas of concern and develop effective interventions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver group therapy programs, ensuring alignment with individual client needs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to data protection policies and confidentiality guidelines.
- A BPS-accredited degree in Psychology.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with learning disabilities.
- An understanding of psychology applied to healthcare and knowledge of mental health principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
We offer a competitive salary range of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including annual leave, pension scheme, and professional development opportunities.
