Job Title: HR Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of HR within our organization, ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Functions: Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, staff management, absence monitoring, and employee relations.
  • Recruitment: Manage the recruitment process for teaching and support staff, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment practices.
  • Advice and Support: Provide advice and support to the school leadership team on HR policies, employment law, and best practices.
  • Staff Development: Coordinate and administer staff development and training programs.
  • Staff Records: Maintain and update staff records in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Payroll and Pensions: Handle payroll, pensions, and contractual matters in conjunction with the school's finance team.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations, including handling grievances, disciplinary procedures, and absence management.
  • HR Queries: Act as the main point of contact for HR queries from staff and leadership.

Requirements:

  • CIPD Level 5 or Above: CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience) is essential.
  • HR Experience: Proven experience in HR management, ideally within an educational or public sector environment.
  • Employment Law: Strong understanding of employment law, safeguarding, and GDPR.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • HR Software: Experience with HR software and strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • School-Specific Policies: Experience with school-specific HR policies and practices (desirable but not essential).
