**About the Role**

We are seeking a skilled Benefits Administrator to join our team at Derby City Council. The successful candidate will work in our busy Housing Benefit team, responsible for managing and updating computer-based software applications.

The ideal candidate will have experience creating spreadsheets for data analysis and analyzing results to report to managers. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with issues in a confident and professional manner either face-to-face or remotely are essential.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £24,790 - £25,183 per annum. The contractual hours are 37 hours per week, and the contract type is permanent. The location is The Council House, where you will be part of a dynamic and diverse team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and update computer-based software applications/databases, including Microsoft PC packages.
  2. Create spreadsheets for data analysis and analyze results to report to managers.
  3. Input data accurately and efficiently.
  4. Deal with customers and stakeholders in a confident and professional manner.
  5. Work as part of a team and with minimum supervision.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in benefits administration.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Desirable but not essential: understanding of state benefits and Free School Meals.
