Job Description:

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with significant SEND requirements, including SEMH needs. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to develop and implement support programmes for the pupil.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the pupil, including carrying out work within the classroom or outside the main teaching area
  • Assist the teacher/SENCo in identifying the pupil's specific needs, barriers to learning, and current attainment and progress
  • Work closely with the teacher/SENCo to develop and implement support programmes for the pupil
  • Assist other children in the classroom as needed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working on a 1:1 basis with a child with an EHCP is beneficial
  • Any additional relevant experience working with children or adults with significant needs is considered
  • Ability to work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
