Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oil Demand Analyst to join our global fundamentals team at Energy Aspects. This is a fantastic career opportunity for an experienced Oil Analyst who is looking to make a valuable contribution to the growth story of a leading energy markets research consultancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the wider global team to ensure that our reports meet the highest standards for quality, accuracy, and depth of insight.
  • Run Energy Aspects oil demand balancing models, including developing and maintaining the methodology for oil demand forecasting.
  • Manage a team of energy analysts and oversee the development of our medium-term energy demand forecasts.
  • Assist in the formulation of our view of the global liquids markets.
  • Present our views on oil markets to clients and prospects, as well as contribute to our written monthly reports.
  • Enable the broader team to undertake more bespoke research for clients when required.
Requirements
  • Solid experience analyzing oil balances, including refined products and NGLs.
  • Fundamental modeling experience, including building and maintaining complex refining models, working with statistical tools, and regression modeling.
  • Knowledge of global oil products markets and refining processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in writing reports and conducting presentations.
  • Experience in analyzing the short- and medium-term oil liquids supply and demand balances.
  • Attention to detail is a prerequisite for this role, both in handling data and written English.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with others, including colleagues in different time zones, to deliver timely analysis.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience developing bottoms-up energy demand models across the commodity complex, including natural gas and power markets.
  • Experience managing junior and entry-level analysts.
  • Data analysis and coding skills, using languages like Python, SQL, or similar, would be advantageous.
