About the Role:

This is a fulfilling role that requires creativity, patience, and a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Skills Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching adaptive daily living skills, mentoring individuals, and creating plans to enhance independence. You will also have the opportunity to participate in community-based activities and provide personal care and assistance to individuals as needed.

Responsibilities:

Day Program Skills Instructors:
  • Teach adaptive daily living skills to Individuals with developmental disabilities through classroom and community services
  • Mentor Individuals, assess needs, create and implement plans to enhance independence
  • Plan and oversee community-based activities
  • Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs


Career Services Skills Instructors:
  • Support Individuals with developmental disabilities enhance their work skills and find employment opportunities
  • Create and participate in community-based activities
  • Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs


Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass company background and reference checks

Estimated Salary: $48,000 - $58,000 per annum based on experience.
