About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS team in a pilot role within the Young People's Substance Misuse Treatment Service in Plymouth. As a CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner, you will work with children and young people who present with substance misuse issues and co-morbid mental health presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide interventions to young people with substance misuse issues and co-morbid mental health presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Young People's Substance Misuse Treatment Service to ensure seamless transitions for young people accessing this service.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with providers, statutory and non-statutory.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Post-registration experience of working with people with complex mental ill health within the community.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with clients and their families/carers.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize workload.
  • Robust and positive approach towards risk assessment.
