Family Support Specialist

Ty Seren is a Residential Family Centre based in South Wales, providing support to up to 11 families at any given time. Our centre focuses on supporting parents with concerns about their ability to care for their child.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Family Support Specialist. As a key member of our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), you will be responsible for completing CUBAS Parenting Assessments and supporting the Parenting Programme. With a small caseload of no more than 5 families, you will work closely with parents to promote positive parenting skills and ensure the well-being of their children.
The ideal candidate will have experience in undertaking parenting assessments, safeguarding, and risk management practices. You should also have a good understanding of child development and be able to build strong relationships with families from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take the lead on safeguarding issues arising in the centre
* Complete CUBAS Parenting Assessments and midpoint reports
* Support parents to meet their children's developing needs
* Develop and implement individualised plans for each family
* Work collaboratively with the MDT to ensure effective coordination and delivery of support services
Requirements:
* Registration with Social Care Wales and knowledge of the Codes of Professional Practice
* Experience of working with vulnerable families and individuals
* Ability to work flexibly, including days, nights, and weekends
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A non-judgemental approach to working with families from diverse backgrounds
