About Ty Seren

Ty Seren is a Residential Family Centre based in the South Wales region, providing support to up to 11 families at any given time. Our centre focuses on supporting parent/s with babies from birth to two years old who are facing challenges in caring for their child.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting our services' mission, objectives, vision, and values both internally and externally. This includes adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, guidance, code of professional practice, contractual requirements, and legislation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead safeguarding issues arising in the centre regarding children or adults at risk, ensuring our practice aligns with national, local, and service-specific safeguarding procedures.
  • Be an allocated point of contact for assigned families, liaising with the local authority and involved professionals throughout placements.
  • Undertake timely parenting assessments and midpoint reports for each family (including non-resident parents and/or children) as instructed by the local authority.
  • Develop individual risk assessments and personal plans for support teams.
Requirements
  • Prior experience and knowledge of safeguarding and risk management practices, including child development.
  • Ability to build relationships with families, maintaining professional boundaries while showing empathy and support.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales and understanding of the Social Care Wales Codes of Professional Practice.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, for on-call duties.
