We're on a mission to transform transport in Wales and make it fit for the future. As a School Liaison Officer, you'll play a key role in inspiring a nation to change the way it travels, sustainably and responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop strong working partnerships with local schools and colleges.
- Ensure the safe and orderly conduct of students during school term times while travelling on TFW services/stations.
- Assist with issuing pupil travel passes at the beginning of the September school term.
- Support Conductors on train services during out-of-school term times.
- Contribute to operating trains safely and efficiently, providing help and information to customers.
- Maintain a high profile, preventing anti-social behaviour on TFW services.
- Engage with local schools and colleges to deliver rail safety and behaviour expectations.
- Assist with local event planning and promoting TFW services.
Requirements
- A flexible individual who can meet shift working requirements, including occasional weekend working.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Understanding of rules, regulations, and strict instructions.
- Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- GCSE or equivalent, including grade C or above in Mathematics and English.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh is a valuable asset, but not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language, offering opportunities for personal development and improvement.
