As a Senior Clinical Research Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, examining, and diagnosing patients within your area of work. You will treat patients safely and appropriately, referring or discharging them as needed. You will manage your caseload and prioritize clinical tasks according to agreed protocols and working practices. You will participate in multidisciplinary clinics, ward rounds, patient reviews, and team meetings.
You will undertake various clinical skills and provide treatment or advice as per your specialty and scope of practice. You will use agreed protocols and professional guidelines to request and undertake diagnostic procedures and clinical investigations. You will also provide advice on medicine management issues associated with your patient specialty group.
You will utilize your advanced knowledge and skills to provide specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team based on patient assessment. You will lead in the development and updating of referral guidelines and policies for the service. You will communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and their relatives/carers, making reports and liaising as required with medical staff and other team members.
You will act as an advocate for patients to ensure a patient-focused approach to care delivery. You will support and enable patients and carers to make informed decisions about their treatment and management. You will escalate concerns via professional structures as required and report and raise concerns related to Safeguarding.
You will be conversant with Trust policies for safeguarding, including the assessment of mental capacity and consideration of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. You will ensure effective and accurate verbal or written handover of patients between healthcare professionals.
You will maintain high standards of documentation, keeping accurate, complete, and up-to-date information regarding patient care in accordance with standards.
