Nurse Specialist in Community Children's Health

We are seeking an experienced Children's Nurse to join our team of Community Children's Nurses in Birmingham. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a skilled professional to provide specialist nursing support to children and families with complex physical health needs.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Children's Rapid Response Service and the Children's Palliative Care Team to deliver high-quality care to children within their own homes, schools, and community settings. With a focus on preventing hospital admissions and supporting families through life-limiting conditions, this role offers a unique blend of clinical expertise and community-based care.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to children within their own homes and community settings.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, and carers to develop individualized care plans that prioritize the child's needs and preferences.
- Liaise with acute services, primary healthcare teams, and other agencies to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement teaching packages to educate families and carers on self-care and nursing practices.
- Maintain accurate, concise, and contemporaneous records according to trust policies and procedures.
- Participate in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with current legislative changes, clinical trends, and best practices in community children's nursing.
Requirements
- RSCN/RN Child Branch qualification or equivalent.
- ENB 998 (Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice) or equivalent.
- Community Children's Nursing qualification or equivalent.
- Significant experience working as a Children's Nurse, preferably in a community setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to team working, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Working Arrangements
This full-time/part-time post requires access to independent means of transport and flexibility to accommodate unsociable hours, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
