Job Description

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT is seeking a highly skilled Community Health Nurse Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work as part of our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality healthcare services to children and young people in community settings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To plan, deliver, and evaluate care for identified health needs in partnership with clients, other professionals, and families.
  • To complete healthcare plans for children and young people with medical conditions in school, liaising with specialist nurses and GPs where indicated.
  • To deliver medical needs training to school staff using approved teaching packages from Birmingham School Health Support Service.
  • To carry out home visits and work within wider community settings, as directed.
  • To mentor and assess pre-registration student nurses on placement within the team.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They must also be familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £40,506 - £60,983 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. You will be required to work flexibly, including up to 6 PM on weekday evenings and occasional weekends to meet service needs.
