Job Title: Design Technology Teacher

Location: North East England

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate design technology teacher with a specialism in resistant materials and construction to join a welcoming and inclusive academy in the North East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging and dynamic lessons in design technology, with a focus on resistant materials and construction, across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Inspire and motivate students to explore and develop practical skills in construction, design, and technology
  • Develop and deliver creative lesson plans that cater to a wide range of abilities and learning styles
  • Foster a hands-on learning environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to maximize achievement

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching resistant materials and construction at secondary level
  • Have strong knowledge of the design process, materials, and construction techniques
  • Be passionate about teaching and developing students' technical and practical skills
  • Possess excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Be committed to contributing to the school's inclusive, community-focused ethos
