Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality specialist routine and non-routine technical nuclear medicine services to meet the needs of the Medway NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Assist in the day-to-day workload organisation, offer suggestions regarding waiting time targets management and logistic operation of the Medway Nuclear Medicine technical service.
  • Assist with periodic critical audit review of specialist technical study protocols and processes, practical training of junior staff and students and supervision of less experienced members of technical staff and students.
  • Assist the Nuclear Medicine Consultant Physicians and other clinical and surgical colleagues with the interpretation of imaging studies and results from in vitro investigations through the critical appraisal of the technical merits and validity of the methodology employed in the absence of or at the request of the Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Person Specification

Qualifications:

  • BSc(Hons) Degree
  • Postgraduate diploma in Nuclear Medicine or Equivalent

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of Nuclear Medicine theory and practice
  • A thorough understanding of the relevant rules and regulations
  • Conversant with a range of PC software applications
  • Highly motivated with an eye for detail
  • Able to achieve objectives through co-operation rather than command

Desirable:

  • Venepuncture skills are desirable but training will be provided

Experience:

  • Recent post qualification experience of working in Nuclear Medicine

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time management skills
