Job Summary

Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in the Department of Nuclear Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality specialist routine and non-routine technical nuclear medicine services to meet the needs of the Trust.
  • Assist in the day-to-day workload organisation, offer suggestions regarding waiting time targets management and logistic operation of the Medway Nuclear Medicine technical service.
  • Assist with periodic critical audit review of specialist technical study protocols and processes, practical training of junior staff and students and supervision of less experienced members of technical staff and students.
  • Assist the Nuclear Medicine Consultant Physicians and other clinical and surgical colleagues with the interpretation of imaging studies and results from in vitro investigations through the critical appraisal of the technical merits and validity of the methodology employed.
Requirements
  • BSc(Hons) Degree
  • Postgraduate diploma in Nuclear Medicine or Equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Nuclear Medicine theory and practice
  • A thorough understanding of the relevant rules and regulations
  • Conversant with a range of PC software applications
  • Highly motivated with an eye for detail
  • Able to achieve objectives through co-operation rather than command
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Venepuncture skills are desirable but training will be provided
