We are seeking a Lead Physiotherapy Specialist for our Emergency Care Team who embodies our commitment to delivering the Best of Care by the Best People. The ideal candidate will possess the enthusiasm and vision to advance our services, ensuring that our organization remains the preferred choice for both patients and staff.

This role involves working in a dynamic Emergency Department (ED) environment, as well as in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and short-stay wards, where you will assess, manage, and treat patients with a diverse range of conditions, including falls, delirium, neurological, and respiratory issues.

You will be required to be on-call competent and participate in the emergency on-call rota.

Your responsibilities will include supervising team members both clinically and through one-on-one sessions, as well as managing students on placement and contributing to departmental and service development.

Main Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Providing high-quality care, assessment, and treatment for patients in the ED, SDEC, and acute assessment units/short-stay wards.
  • Leading a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with the Team Lead Occupational Therapist.
  • Actively participating in the emergency on-call rota.

Our core values are Bold, Every Person Counts, Sharing and Open, and Together. It is essential that you understand and reflect these values throughout your application and employment with our organization.

We are dedicated to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion; our policies ensure that all candidates are treated equitably at every stage of the recruitment process.

About Us

At Medway, we take pride in our collaborative approach to achieving our shared vision of Better, Best, Brilliant.

With strong leadership, we ensure that our teams have a positive day-to-day experience, where staff are valued, high-quality care is delivered, and there is a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Our organization is an excellent choice for individuals looking to advance their careers in a dynamic and ambitious environment. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including onsite childcare facilities, various salary sacrifice schemes, and generous annual leave entitlements.

We are looking for a Lead Physiotherapy Specialist with a keen interest in Emergency and Acute Medicine to co-lead our Emergency Care Team. The successful candidate should share our vision of delivering the Best of Care by the Best People and possess the drive to help us move forward, ensuring that our organization remains the top choice for patients and staff.

Job Responsibilities

As a Lead Physiotherapy Specialist, you will ensure timely assessments and interventions for a variety of patients, including those with falls, neurological, and respiratory conditions.

You will support team members as needed and delegate appropriate tasks to less experienced physiotherapists and therapy assistants, while also assisting in the development of the service.
