Accountable for the provision of Cardiac Healthcare Science diagnostic and monitoring service at Medway Maritime Hospital and the two Community Diagnostic Centres. Short term and long term workload planning including demand/capacity modelling for business planning. Making adjustments to deal with urgent and emergency work. Lead and work collaboratively with senior managers and clinical colleagues in the formulation of strategic and business plans for the Clinical services.

To take responsibility for full system process from requesting, effective administration, appointments scheduling, reporting and storage of patient data with a system that minimises delays and robust audit trail from requesting to report viewing. As an independent practitioner, take the lead for providing a full range of basic to highly complex investigations, ensuring the production of a full technical analysis and interpretation of results for medical staff, and giving technical advice as appropriate, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of these patients. Provide clinical expertise, advice and support to the physiologists and the MDT in their area of specialism as well as in training and education. Responsible for making decisions on severity of results where expert opinion may differ.

To develop, manage and participate in highly specialised services such as the Physiologist led valve clinic and to support the growth of these services. As the departmental Digital Information Asset Owner ensure all the requirements of this role are fulfilled and that all staff and systems are compliant with Trust policy. Lead clinical and non-clinical department audit, technical evaluation and research projects as required. Undertake capacity and capability assessments as requested by the Research team and work with them to deliver clinical trials as specified by the relevant trial protocol.

To maintain own professional registration and accreditation Communicates highly complex test results to colleagues; to patients, relatives, carers who may have sensory, physical or learning disabilities Communicate highly complex statistical and audit information, and work collaboratively with clinical professionals and the senior management team to ensure physiology services continue to meet ever changing local needs. To support physiology staff in dealing with difficult clinical and professional situations To implement new techniques and technologies and adapt to change. Monitor outpatient investigation waiting times against targets to ensure compliance, adopting a proactive approach to managing changing needs and fluctuations in demand and capacity. Ensure that data is correct and attend weekly DM01 meetings.

Responsible for the ongoing design and development of the department information systems ensuring data is produced in line with departmental, Trust and N.H.S. requirements and guidelines. Responsible for service database and digital records ensuring systems are compliant and maintained. Ensuring that all staff adhere to trust and local procedures for recording personally generated information, data entry and storage of data.

Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement. Ensure Datix and incident reporting is completed and act as an investigator in incidents relating to the department as required Responsible for the investigation of complaints regarding the services and to report the findings to the Trust in accordance with local procedure and to take remedial action if appropriate To ensure departmental quality and adherence to guidelines, with ongoing program of education, audit and service improvement Ensure all staff have a yearly individual performance review and personal development plans are in place. Undertake all mandatory training as specified Ensure patient privacy and dignity is upheld at all times by the whole cardiology team, and implement ways to ensure patient care is of the highest standard Collect feed-back from patients about their care, ensuring the cardiology department improves continually. Identify themes and trends to focus resources for improvement on
