Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Strategy to lead our Direct to Consumer (D2C) business growth. As a key member of our D2C Commercial, Marketing, and Development teams, you will be responsible for identifying future growth opportunities and developing strategies to achieve both customer and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor key competitor proposition developments and benchmark against our own proposition.
  • Evaluate D2C best-practice initiatives from other Samsung subsidiaries and adapt for the UK market.
  • Monitor e-commerce and consumer electronics market trends and performance.
  • Develop D2C strategy to drive profitable growth and achieve customer and commercial critical metrics.
  • Lead the multi-functional SEUK D2C Shop App Taskforce to increase adoption and usage of the App.

Market, Competitor, and Consumer Insight

  • Monitor key competitor developments and conduct regular benchmarking of the Samsung D2C proposition to identify points of difference and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify D2C best practice and emerging trends in consumer electronics and other product verticals and build into SEUK D2C strategy and approach as required.
  • Build a deep understanding of our consumer needs and share with other D2C teams to factor into their planning and execution.

D2C Global Best-Practice Adaptation and Implementation

  • Summarize SEUK activities to develop best practice examples across proposition development, marketing, and onsite execution and share as required with the Global GMO team for global adoption.
  • Work with the Global GMO team to understand D2C best practice cases developed by other global Samsung subsidiaries and evaluate performance through the lens of the UK market and consumer dynamics.
  • Use global best practice cases to develop SEUK D2C pilot activities for implementation and work with D2C LT and teams to seek approval for adoption and execution of pilot activities.

Collaboration across Product Divisions

  • Work closely with product divisions to understand market trends and market-share data and develop a deep understanding of mobile, domestic appliance, and TVAV priorities and challenges.
  • Incorporate divisional priorities into the overarching D2C strategy and develop activities and pilots for adoption by D2C Commercial, Marketing, and Onsite teams to enhance premium sales and profitability.
  • Collate, summarize, and share results from pilot activities to evolve and improve execution for future roll-out and expansion.

D2C Strategy Development

  • Work closely with the UK DTC Leadership Team to understand overarching D2C objectives and strategic critical metrics for SEUK and global D2C teams.
  • Collaborate with the UK DTC LT to develop the overall D2C growth strategy and longer-term direction for SEUK.
  • Develop strategic principles, objectives, critical metrics, and plans to guide SEUK D2C growth and achieve both customer and commercial objectives.
  • Work alongside Commercial, Marketing, Onsite, and Development teams to develop milestone and project plans for key D2C activities and ensure clear communication and alignment across teams.

Shop App Taskforce Leadership

  • Manage the Shop App Manager, supporting them to lead the Samsung Shop App Taskforce, with key objectives to increase downloads, engagement, and conversion to sales and generate incremental revenue for DTC.
  • Support the Shop App Manager to develop a clear roadmap of activities to increase Shop App adoption, working alongside GMO and EO teams to enhance the customer journey and native user experience offered by Shop App.
  • Collaborate with PMO, Regional, and Global App Taskforce teams to prioritize planning and delivery of new initiatives and identify ways to rapidly bring new concepts to market through 'test and learn'.
  • Track and monitor performance through implementation to benefits realization.

  • Contribute fully to the DTC team culture, which delivers on our targets, celebrates success, and has fun while doing it.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Development of D2C strategy, critical metrics, timings, aligned with SEUK Leadership Team.
  • Development of pilot proposals for SEUK D2C, based on global best-practice cases.
  • Through D2C strategy, enable SEUK D2C to achieve commercial sales targets (revenue, profit, budget efficiency) and customer critical metrics (retention share, LTV, purchase frequency).
