Job Title: Lead Orthoptist

Job Summary:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Orthoptist to join our team. As a key member of our ophthalmology department, you will be responsible for leading the orthoptic service and managing a team of orthoptists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the orthoptic service, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective management of clinical workload.
  • Manage a team of orthoptists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals, providing guidance, support, and supervision as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, service delivery, and team performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Registered Orthoptist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

  • Knowledge of ophthalmology and orthoptics, with a strong understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement principles.
