We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Orthoptist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our ophthalmology department, you will be responsible for leading our orthoptic services and managing a team of allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and delivery of a quality-driven orthoptic service, aligned with the department's overall objectives and strategy.
- Manage a team of orthoptists, optometrists, and other allied health professionals, including line management, training, and supervision.
- Provide high-quality orthoptic services as an autonomous practitioner, managing own clinical workload and clinics.
- Take part in extended roles within ophthalmology, using Ophthalmic Practitioner Training (OPT) programmes.
- Manage sickness absence, reorganize workload according to clinical priority, and deal with any issues or complaints that may arise.
