Lead Orthoptist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Orthoptist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our ophthalmology department, you will be responsible for leading the orthoptic services and managing a team of orthoptists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development and implementation of orthoptic services across the department, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Manage a team of orthoptists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals, providing guidance, support, and supervision as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments and services within the trust, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with trust and national guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Registered Orthoptist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience in leading and managing teams, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, patients, and families.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
