About the Role:
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Orthoptist to join our team. As a key member of our ophthalmology department, you will be responsible for leading the orthoptic service and managing a team of orthoptists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the orthoptic service, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective management of clinical workload.
- Manage a team of orthoptists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals, providing guidance, support, and supervision as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, service delivery, and team performance.
- Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to orthoptic practice.
Requirements:
- Registered Orthoptist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience in orthoptic practice, including leadership and management roles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and stakeholders.
