We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing innovative food services to independent schools and colleges. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in crafting exceptional dining experiences for our students.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution, with a strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices. They will be able to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
As a member of our culinary team, you will collaborate with our Head Chef to develop menus that cater to the diverse needs of our students, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will also be responsible for supervising and training kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, taking into consideration dietary restrictions, nutritional guidelines, and seasonal ingredients.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Collaborate with the catering team to execute special events, themed dinners, and other culinary initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, always following health and safety regulations.
- Support the Head Chef in administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining records of food costs and inventory.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution.
- Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognised culinary institute.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
