About the Opportunity


We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Academic Support Professional to join our team at Teaching Personnel. This full-time, term-time-only position is available for an immediate start and will be integral to supporting our Year 6 pupils in achieving their best during this crucial stage in their primary education.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support Classroom Learning: Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons to Year 6 pupils, providing targeted support in both group and individual settings.
  • Pupil Support: Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students, particularly in core subjects like English and Mathematics, helping them prepare for their end-of-year assessments (SATs).
  • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive, encouraging learning environment that motivates students to reach their full potential, ensuring all pupils are engaged and on-task.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and assess pupil progress, feeding back to the class teacher and contributing to the planning of future lessons.


About You

The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and supporting their development, particularly during the pivotal Year 6 stage. They should have strong communication skills, patience, and a commitment to helping students succeed academically and personally.


Essential Requirements:



  • Experience working with primary school-aged children, ideally in a Year 6 setting.
  • A good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher and support team.


Salary Information

Based on local market rates, the estimated salary for this role is approximately £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
