Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust is a leading healthcare provider in the Northeast of England and Cumbria. We are seeking an experienced Consultant Adult Psychiatrist with Community to join our team.

Job Overview

This new consultant psychiatrist post will be split across our young person's crisis team and our newly commissioned psychiatry liaison team for young people covering the Great North Children's hospital. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape a newly commissioned service and work in one of the most renowned children's hospitals in the country.

Main Responsibilities
  • The candidate will participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss patient needs and jointly plan their day with the other members of the team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential as plans may change due to urgent referrals.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • MBBS (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (CAMHS) or eligibility within six months of CCT.
  • Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Training in educational supervision and appraisal.
  • Up-to-date knowledge in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
