Job Overview: United Community & Family Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Peer Support Coach - Substance Use Treatment to join our team. In this critical role, you will work closely with clients, therapists, and community resources to help individuals and families navigate the complexities of substance use treatment and recovery. Your strong recovery experience, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to make a lasting impact on those you serve.

About the Position: This full-time (40hr) Recovery Coach position requires travel between Norwich and Griswold offices with occasional weekend or evening coverage. You will also be expected to participate in UCFS tabling events. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to creating a supportive environment that fosters recovery and growth.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities for this position include:
  1. • Developing and implementing personalized recovery plans in collaboration with clients and therapists
  2. • Providing access to program services and community resources to support clients' recovery needs
  3. • Engaging with clients through regular check-ins, group sessions, and case management activities
  4. • Maintaining accurate records of client progress and outcomes
  5. • Participating in ongoing education and training to enhance professional development and stay current with best practices in recovery coaching


Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you should have:
  • In recovery from substance use for a minimum of 2 years, required
  • Minimum of Associate's Degree, BA/BS preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations
  • Valid driver's license and state-mandated levels of auto liability insurance


Compensation: We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with 6% employer contribution, and paid life and disability insurance.
