Job Description

We seek an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Governance, Infrastructure and Sustainability team (GIST). This role involves reviewing and analyzing the financial health of allocated institutions, ensuring compliance with professional accountancy principles, SFC policy, and Scottish Government financial guidance.

  • Draft comprehensive reports on financial health and governance for senior stakeholders, including concise recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with external experts as necessary to inform decisions and proposed actions.

This position requires expertise in financial analysis, governance, and technical accounting, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to communicate complex issues effectively. Proficiency in desktop software packages, particularly Advanced Excel, is also essential.

Key Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (CCBA, ACCA, or ICAS) with up-to-date knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
  • Excellent understanding of business analysis, planning, budgeting, audit, and financial control issues.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, enabling effective communication with networks of key contacts both internally and externally.
