The purpose of this role is to lead and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians and Engineers to deliver a cost-effective maintenance service, ensuring the safe, reliable operation of all utilities plant and equipment, and compliance with all relevant legislative and corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize GPS tools and best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment and maintenance team performance.
  • Ensure all services are provided in full compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate standards.
  • Accountable for all aspects of the Utilities engineering budget, providing detailed cost reports, and ensuring a cost-effective maintenance service that delivers reliable equipment within the agreed budget.
  • To assess short, medium, and long-term resource requirements and ensure appropriate recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Through effective performance management, ensure the Utilities team remains green across all aspects of Engineering, EHS, and Quality compliance.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate submission and progression of CAPEX projects to maintain the reliability and integrity of Utilities operations and infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Substantial Utilities operational experience, strong technical understanding of utilities equipment and operations.
  • Experienced engineering leader.
  • Good understanding of engineering principles, standards, and regulations, GMP, GxP, etc.
  • Good understanding of Maintenance Management Systems and Strategies.
  • Good understanding of RBM, RCM, FMEA.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level (Mech/Elec/Chemical/Asset Management).
  • Chartered Engineer.
  • Lean six sigma qualification.
  • DMAIC.
  • Asbestos P405.
  • NEBOSH Certificate.
