About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) to join our Advocacy team at Respond. As an ISVA, you will provide pro-active emotional, practical, and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic individuals who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support to clients
  • Work in partnership with other London sexual violence support services
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and their families
  • Support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity
  • Engage with a wider range of people who have experienced sexual violence and other barriers to justice
Requirements
  • Experience working with autistic and learning disabled individuals
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application in a support setting
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and work in an empowering and inclusive way
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
