Key Responsibilities- Deliver advice, support, and advocacy to Trans and Non-Binary victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
- Act as a specialist lead within the advocacy team to ensure the specific needs of trans and non-binary survivors are met.
- Provide support, advice, and expertise to colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Represent Galop with key stakeholders, advocating for the needs of the LGBT+ community.
- Develop and deliver needs-led specialist support services.
- Deep understanding of the spectrum of violence and abuse that LGBT+ people are subjected to, including causes, impact, and barriers to accessing services.
- Expertise in delivering specialist support services.
- Solutions-focussed and collaborative approach, with good resilience and self-care.
- Ability to work in an environment where abuse and violence are regularly discussed.
- Understanding of the impact of trauma on individuals and teams.
Galop is a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse. Our focus is on providing person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed support to our clients.
We use our expertise to inform national and local policy change, improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors, and build evidence through research. Our goal is to create a society where LGBT+ people can live free from abuse and violence.
